The route starts from the Romanesque Church of S. Pietro, continues along Via Lazzaroni to the Verida district, where you take a left uphill and then immediately turn right onto a wide dirt road. You enter a widely terraced area cultivated with fields; depending on the season, rye, barley, potatoes and buckwheat alternate here according to the peasant tradition of rotation. Downstream you can see the green hamlet of Somasassa with the characteristic beautiful bell tower of the church of St. Gotthard. Leaving a concrete track on your left, continue on the dirt road; at the next fork, at a typical stone rustic house, continue on your left. From this point there is a beautiful view of the eastern part of Valtellina and you can clearly see in succession the villages of Boalzo, Bianzone, Villa di Tirano, Tirano (overlooked by the mass of Mount Massuccio that stands out to your left) and, in the background, the cone of Sernio. At the Palama house you continue left, skirting the buildings and entering a chestnut forest; here the road narrows and takes a left turn uphill. After 5 m, follow the track on the right that with an accentuated ascent leads to the locality of Ravarola through a mixed forest of chestnut, larch, linden, oak, tremolo poplar and birch with a mouthwatering undergrowth of blueberry (5-minute walk, pay attention to the particularly exposed slope). At a large chestnut tree, turn left toward the complex of stone buildings; past the tenements is a beautiful view of Val Caronella and the Gavazza and Torena mountains. Continue on level ground in the direction of Teglio, entering the forest, mostly chestnut. You then reach a small building, beyond which, at the crossroads, you continue left on a short descent in beaten concrete, going to rejoin the road traveled on the outward journey; it then takes you back to the Verida district and, then, through Via Lazzaroni, you reach again the small church of S. Pietro.
