Teglio - S. Silvestro - Fonte della Frascesca

From Piazza S.ta Eufemia, the town hall square, take the lane that climbs in a northerly direction (via S. Silvestro) skirting on cobblestone steps the ancient shelter of Teglio, crossed via Milano, continue past the church of S. Silvestro. After a few hundred meters, the slope increases and there is a short stretch on beaten concrete at the end of which, at the fork, you turn left onto the dirt road, leaving the road leading to the locality Masoni on your right. You continue among wide clearings and wooded stretches with some beautiful views of the Tiranese, in particular, at the end of a wide grassy terrace you notice the houses of the Masoni locality. We then enter a stretch characterized by the presence of old chestnut groves until we reach the houses of Brigna. The road continues uphill and you skirt the lower portions of the Gema meadows, then after two cobbled hairpin bends you come to the Croce dei Duse'i on your right. Leaving the cross on one's right, one continues for a short distance until crossing, near a wetland characterized by an alder forest, the road leading from Gema to Fonte della Frascesca. It is therefore possible to choose to continue on one's left toward Gema or, following route No. 5, head toward Fonte della Frascesca; a route that, near two small stone buildings, allows a beautiful view of the Orobic slope and the Mortirolo Pass. When you reach the crossing of a small stream to continue straight on at the foot of green pastures, leaving the uphill dirt road on the left. You thus come to a green metal parapet from which you can see Mount Cancano in all its majesty; from this point you enter, for a short distance, a beautiful forest of pure beech and the path begins to be accompanied by the gurgling of the Rio stream. After a short while you reach the Frascesca spring. After a few more meters downhill you can see a vein of limestone rock, distinguished by its whitish color, which in ancient times was worked in the nearby kiln for the production of lime.
