Teglio - S. Rocco - Mills

From the town of Teglio follow the signs for Prato Valentino and then for Ligone, skirting pastures and meadows full of wildflowers. When you reach the village of Ligone, it is possible to admire the church of S. Maria and the nearby ossuary, and it is advisable to enter the characteristic narrow streets of the district, one of the oldest and most picturesque in the Teglio area. From the square in front of the church, take the dirt road that descends to the left. Immediately, to one's left, one can admire the Orobie mountain range and the valley furrow of Val Malgina and, further to the right, Val d'Arigna. Having passed an old stone rustic house on your right, a splendid viewpoint opens up over the middle Valtellina, and in that order the villages of Chiuro, Ponte in Valtellina, Tresivio, Sondrio and, in the background, the peak of Dazio are clearly visible on the Rhaetian side; on clear days even the mountains surrounding Lake Como are visible. Downstream, the tree-lined promontory of Dos de la Forca is visible. At the end of the short descent, past the beautiful chestnut fruit trees, the road bends to the left and thus reaches the village of San Rocco. Turning left slightly downhill, you reach the church of S. Rocco. Keeping, however, to one's right, one enters the characteristic contrada. On the asphalt hairpin bend, take the track on the right that, through a wide and easy dirt road, leads to the area of the Mills. Past the buildings of an agritourism company, near a small embankment, formerly used as a lookout point thanks to its beautiful view of the valley, you will enjoy a beautiful view of the hamlet of Ca' Scanzi; a few more meters downhill and you will find yourself in front of the ancient Menaglio Mill, recently renovated.
