The start is from Sernio, a small town located a few kilometers from Tirano. The first kilometer is extremely hard, with gradients reaching up to 15 percent, immediately testing the endurance and determination of the pedalers. The climb continues with a series of hairpin bends and steep sections where no huts or even fountains are encountered.
As you climb toward the 1,500-meter altitude, the views open up to beautiful landscapes, providing a more rewarding experience. However, it is in the last section, with arrival in Guspessa, that the road reveals its most authentic beauty. This part of the route is a real treat for enthusiasts along a tongue of asphalt in excellent condition.
Reaching the Guspesa Pass, one travels along the stupendous panoramic trail along the mountain ridge and leading to the Mortirolo Pass.
