From the Forni, one leads to the vicinity of the small artificial barrage. Following the signs to the right for the Branca refuge, you first pass a small bridge over the Cedec stream and then continue along the bottom of the valley, following a nice, always beaten track on the left of the Frodolfo stream, until you reach a small plateau from where you can see the refuge above on the left. Continue following a small road, always beaten, that with three hairpin bends leads to the vicinity of the small Rosole lake (normally this stretch is always well traced for the supply of the refuge itself). From here to the right, staying above the ancient and evident moraine edge, follow it rising gradually to its end. You now climb a steep slope to the left, thus arriving at the base of two narrow, marked gullies. Normally you ascend from the left channel reaching the wide glacial plateau. Continue staying more or less in the middle of the basin in a northerly direction going then up the slope to the right of the evident southwest ridge of the Palon de la Mare. When you reach another plateau, being careful of the crevasse area, you bend sharply to the right and continue climbing gradually bringing you near the final ridge, which you climb with short switchbacks because it is steep and narrow in some short sections. The last hundred meters are flat and lead, northward, easily to the summit.
