Skiing under the stars. Skiing at night under the stars is special but it is even more special if you are skiing on the pistes which have seen great races in the Alpine skiing World Cup. What are you doing tonight?
If you like skiing, you will love night skiing, a romantic and thrilling experience on the slopes of Bormio and Santa Caterina Valfurva.
Night skiing is very rewarding both technically, because the piste is freshly prepared for the night session, and emotionally because spending time in such an incredible landscape is a cure for anything! In addition, when you are surrounded by darkness and silence, all of your other senses are automatically enhanced. In the Bormio area you have the chance of skiing on two famous World Cup skiing courses.
These are our two most famous runs, the Pista Stelvio in Bormio and the Pista Deborah Compagnoni in Santa Caterina Valfurva.
The legendary Pista Stelvio in Bormio
Famous for being one of the most technically demanding races on the World Cup circuit. But you can take it easy!
4 km of the piste in Bormio are illuminated for night skiing.
The night skiing runs are split across two pistes: the blue piste (easy) called Genziana and the red (intermediate) called Stelvio. For these sessions, the main lift is open, the Bormio-Bormio 2000 gondola.
The Pista Deborah Compagnoni in Santa Caterina Valfurva
Known for the fabulous setting in the pine forest, covered in a thick blanket of snow, it bears the name of the famous Italian skier who hails from Santa Caterina Valfurva.
After the pistes close in the afternoon, the snow is prepared so it is ready for a memorable night skiing session. Trust us! You will love the very special atmosphere in a fairytale location, savouring the spectacle of Santa Caterina Valfurva by night.
Need your après ski fix?
Don’t worry! We know that after skiing you need to relax with friends.
There is a fun, celebratory atmosphere in the many mountain bars and restaurants which are open for you to warm up in and enjoy the beautiful view over the valley at night.
