The military site of "Le Buse," comprising as many as 17 buildings arranged in a semicircle in addition to artillery emplacements, trenches and communication trenches, is located on a large flat area that can be reached by following the Valle dei Vitelli route that starts from the hairpin bend preceding the Second Stelvio Cantoniera. It dates back to World War I and is one of many testimonies to the life of soldiers at high altitude. It has undergone conservation maintenance by Stelvio National Park staff.
