From Rifugio Forni, follow the easy mule track that initially climbs two steep switchbacks, then to the right becomes flatter and, having bypassed the ridge that leads into Val Cedec, continues halfway up the hillside and reaches the Pizzini refuge. A trail is always present, but in any case the path is very simple and obvious. Now continue north, without an obligatory path, in the direction of the obvious rocky island that lies at the base of the southern wall of Gran Zebru' and contour around it, usually passing it on the left. Then bending to the right you reach the base of the marked gully that leads toward the ridge. Normally this gully is climbed on skis to where it narrows near the first rocks. When you reach the shoulder (1 shoulder) on the southeast ridge, the next section slightly diagonal to the right is very steep and allows you to take a falsopiano (2 shoulder) to the base of the last part of the ascent. Continue slightly to the right going around some rocks in a steep area and from here straight on to the last section of ridge. Passing to the south of it you briefly reach the vicinity of the metal summit cross.
