The Family Bob, Lombardy’s first and only toboggan run on rails
The Family Bob is a fun toboggan run on rails that winds its way through the pine forest in the Cima Piazzi-San Colombano ski area.
The toboggan run is 600 m long, with wide panoramic curves. The 300 m ascent is fully automated, so getting to the top is no effort at all. Its location opposite Rifugio Conca Bianca, at the top of the ski lift, means that children who are at least 120 cm tall can use the toboggan run on their own. And as their parent, you can either give the toboggan run a go yourself or relax in the solarium area of the Rifugio.
The Family Bob is open in both summer and winter, whenever the ski lifts are running. Children aged 4 to 8 must be accompanied by an adult. Children aged 8 and over can use the ride unaccompanied.
Walking on fresh snow with snowshoes
One of the simplest pleasures to enjoy outdoors in the fresh mountain air with your children is, without doubt, a snowshoe walk on fresh snow. Going for a snowshoe walk in the forest just after fresh snow has fallen seeing the deer or fox tracks in the snow is something you will never forget, special moments for your whole family, in close harmony with nature.
In Santa Caterina Valfurva and the Valdidentro, guided walks are organised every week in the daytime and after dark for families with children, led by the Alpine Guides.
