Easy-going enjoyment. In Bormio, mountain walks are a time for some feel good fun. If you are looking forward to some peace and quiet with your children, then you are in the right place.
Spending a day outdoors with your family is an opportunity for sharing some precious time together. Walking in the forest, spotting a scurrying squirrel, dipping your feet in a cool stream; these are all experiences which will not only be stamped on your memory and the memories of your children, but they will also help to recharge your batteries and lift your spirits!
Why not try a different walk every day? Our recommended routes for hikes with children are all easy and suitable for everyone, even if you are not used to mountain walking.
One of the most popular walks with children, including very young ones, is the walk to the peatland in the Paluaccio nature reserve. It is popular because the route is easy and flat and just 1 km long. But also because it allows you to explore a magical landscape, one of the few remaining in Italy, the most distinctive feature of which is a carnivorous plant which grows naturally in the reserve. Ask your children if they want to visit the peatland located above the village of Oga!
Our recommended walks all involve visiting historic and natural locations where, together with your children, you can find out about local history, learn more about rare plants and flowers, visit nature reserves and, with a bit of luck, encounter mountain goats and large birds of prey. Children will be enchanted by the beauty of these places. Take a look at the list below of easy walks to do with your children.
